Microbiology is a fascinating field of study, delving into a whole new world of organisms that are too small to be seen with the naked eye. Students will get to know the different microorganisms that encompass the microbial world and how they interact with each other as well as the environment for their survival. Practical components of this module will focus on basic microbiological techniques such as the preparation of solid and liquid growth media, streaking and inoculation of bacterial cultures, bacterial enumeration and basic microbial staining.
